Staff said they presented at an economic development summit attended by more than 100 people and that the EDC participated in the ICSC trade show in San Antonio to market EDC-owned land, including Alexander Village and other developable parcels. "We tried to market our EDC-owned land, Alexander Village, and then also other developable land in the city," staff said, noting follow-up conversations with retailers and restaurants.
Staff also referenced a type-A facade improvement grant awarded to the Cowboys event center, which converted a dilapidated retail strip into a multipurpose event venue; staff described the project as well received. Board members asked questions about project timelines and next steps; staff offered to return with updates where appropriate.
