Public Works presented Professional Services Supplement No. 6 for the Bothell Way Northeast multimodal improvements project, requesting authorization for the city manager to execute a $864,496 increase to WSP USA's contract for additional right-of-way acquisition support, illumination analysis, bus stop and bike-lane design, constructability review and geotechnical work. Rita Gu told council the supplement would bring the contract total to $11,418,237.
Rita said the 2025-26 capital facility plan includes sufficient funding to cover the additional design costs today, but staff anticipate returning in the fall with a budget amendment to ensure funding for remaining design and railway-acquisition activities. Council member Kurt asked for a later breakdown of overages between right-of-way acquisition and design costs; staff committed to provide that information in September.
Council member Kurt moved the resolution, which the council approved 6-0 with Council member Miles absent. The motion authorizes the city manager to execute Supplement No. 6 with WSP USA in the amount of $864,496.
Motion outcome: resolution adopted unanimously by present members (6-0; Miles out of the room).
