The Anna Economic Development Corporation voted March 5 to approve Resolution 2026‑03‑5 amending the FY2025–26 EDC budget to carry forward $2,053,129 in unexpended land-acquisition funds. The chair introduced the item and the presenter, Miss Roach, explained that the EDC had not previously budgeted for the purchase and used fund-balance dollars to complete it.
Roach told the board that the expenditure had been paid from the fund balance and that the amendment would "shore up the books and show that we did have an expenditure." The printed packet and earlier spoken figure list $2,053,129; in a later portion of the presentation the speaker appears to misstate the amount as a much larger number. The board approved the amendment by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
The action records the EDC’s use of fund-balance dollars for land acquisition and updates the budget documents accordingly. The presenter emphasized this is a bookkeeping and audit tracking change rather than a new appropriation of additional funds.
