Mayor: Main Street Bridge will close for about a year; council informed of planned JED expansion

During the administration reports, the mayor updated the council on two items affecting travel and local economic development. He said Main Street Bridge is closed and will likely remain closed for about a year while the city raises the bridge and completes safety improvements. "That's gonna be closed for a year... It's gonna be a lot safer," the Mayor said.
The mayor also said conversations with the township are underway to expand an existing Joint Economic Development (JED) agreement near Cleveland Street (the former Golden Acres property). He said the township has scheduled its hearing and the city will advertise its public hearing; maps and amendment documents will be available with the clerk and treasurer ahead of a 30-day public-notice period before the hearing.
