Public Works proposes school bus stop sign policy; districts would pay installation costs

Public Works Director Curtis Mader presented a proposed policy to standardize installation of school bus stop signs along County roads. Under the draft policy, school districts could designate bus stop sign locations and would be responsible for the cost of installation and removal. The signs would be non-regulatory and therefore would not require Board approval.
Mader asked the Board for feedback before sending the policy to school districts for their input. Commissioners discussed timing and delivery of signs for specific roads and requested staff follow up on delivery timing and detour striping for related projects. No vote was taken at the April 7 meeting.
