Council orders probe of water-meter discrepancy and to pursue hydraulic modeling for fire safety
Summary
Superintendent Eric Antonelli reported a discrepancy between town meter usage and billed amounts; Councilmembers Wheeler and Stowe will investigate with staff and Town Engineer Schroeder. Superintendent Eric Antonelli submitted the annual water usage report to the Department of Health and noted the town meter’s recorded usage differed from amounts billed by the town.
Councilmembers Brad Wheeler and Tom Stowe agreed to work with Superintendent Antonelli, Clerk Amy Myhre and Town Engineer Schroeder to investigate the discrepancy. Separately, Building Official Kolke met with the Bellevue Fire Marshall and town staff to discuss fire flow, hydrants and residential sprinklers; Bellevue Fire indicated that WAC codes require hydraulic modeling and Schroeder will follow up with Council on next steps for that work.
Council did not set a schedule for the modeling at the meeting but identified staff and the Town Engineer as responsible parties for follow-up investigation and coordination with Bellevue Fire.
