Cedar Hill names Neil Bolton as new information-technology director

Neil Bolton was introduced to the Cedar Hill City Council on April 14 as the city’s new Director of Information Technology. The city manager told the council Bolton had applied and interviewed for the role and highlighted his 27 years in the Cedar Hill Independent School District technology department, including 10 years as executive director of technology.
“I'm so excited to be part of the city of Cedar Hill,” Neil Bolton said, thanking the city manager for hiring him and saying he felt “like this is where I'm supposed to be.” Council members welcomed Bolton and noted his long record of service to local boards and civic groups, including the Lions Club, the Cedar Hill Museum Board and other local organizations. The mayor formally welcomed him to the city-side staff.
Bolton replaces the city’s previous IT leadership and will lead the department’s work to support city systems and initiatives. The manager also thanked Bolton and urged the council to support his transition; no formal vote was required at the briefing.
