City Manager Greg reported on a Big East County meeting that developed a conceptual model for a regional fire district and estimated a buildout near $52,000,000 for an 8–station concept.
"It came to, you know, $52,000,000 thereabouts and about 10 more than current costs," Greg said, summarizing the meeting’s modeling. He said the group agreed at least two additional stations would be needed in the service area, but that key governance questions remain — who would lead a new district, whether consolidation or annexation is feasible, and how to coordinate cost and ownership. Greg recommended bringing an independent consultant to vet and compare proposals expected from District 10 and District 1 later this year.
