City updates wetland-park design; geotechnical work returned higher-than-expected costs
Summary
City staff showed a revised site rendering for the proposed wetland park at Wood Village Boulevard and Narrata Road, describing preserved vegetation, boardwalks and wildlife-viewing nodes; staff said geotechnical bids for elevated crossings came back 'really, really high' and that the landscape architect will seek a reduced scope and alternate geotechnical firms before returning a change order in April.

City Manager Greg presented an updated site rendering for the proposed wetland park at Wood Village Boulevard and Narrata Road and said the design retains several pockets of existing vegetation while adding perimeter and internal pathways, boardwalks and wildlife-viewing areas.
"That's the new park gonna be at Wood Village Boulevard in Narrata Road," Greg said, describing interpretive panels, viewpoints and constrained opportunities for active recreation. He told the council the structural and geotechnical work for elevated crossings came back "really, really high" and staff will pursue scope reductions and other bids; a change order is expected for council consideration in April.
