Public works reports hires, park prep and a water-loss repair; staff expect drop from 16% next month

Director of Public Works reported the utility division added four new utility-worker hires and completed vegetation removal, fence repairs at the community garden, lift-station pressure washing and other park maintenance.
"Our water loss for last month had risen to little over 16%," the director said, adding staff believed they found and repaired a leak on 238th Hillside and expect next month’s number to drop. He also noted the city will start an inflow-and-infiltration (I&I) sewer project shortly and will use listening devices to check other system areas.
