Christine Taylor (who goes by 'Christie') introduced herself as the city’s new attorney and said she will support the city on legal matters related to the ballot-measure referral for a proposed levy. "My name is Christine Taylor. I go by Christie," she told the council during her second meeting in the role. She said much of her practice supports public entities including cities and special districts.
Separately during mayor and council comments, the chair outlined a joint letter among four mayors seeking $50,000 from Multnomah County to be directed toward organizations providing assistance for food insecurity and utility help for families in the local school district; the mayor said the funds would be deployed through groups that already deliver services to those in need. Council members expressed support and said they expect a related resolution to be presented in Gresham and other jurisdictions.
