Board approves two principal appointments for Windy Hill and Plum Point Middle

The Calvert County Board of Education approved two principal appointments during its June 1 meeting. Superintendent Dr. Newsom recommended the appointments and the board approved both motions by voice vote.
After the motion to appoint the recommended candidate for Windy Hill passed, the appointee addressed the board: "I am deeply honored and truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next principal of Windy Hill Elementary School," the new principal said. Later, Chandra Fleet, recommended as principal of Plum Point Middle School, expressed thanks: "I do not take this opportunity lightly to serve as the next principal of Plum Point Middle School." Both appointments were approved without recorded opposition and will be posted in the board records as part of the personnel actions taken at the meeting.
