Council recognizes BTU for national reliability and safety awards

Council member Kevin Bridal recognized Bryan's municipal utility, BTU, for two awards from the American Public Power Association's April conference: an RP3 Diamond designation (Reliable Public Power Provider) and a Diamond-level safety award. "They actually won, it was APPA's Diamond reliable public power provider designation ... This will be the 5th consecutive time that BTU's won," Bridal said, noting perfect or high scores in reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement categories.
Council members expressed appreciation for BTU's workforce and safety culture and encouraged staff to use the peer-comparative materials when communicating rate changes to the public.
