The Benbrook Economic Development Corporation on March 16 approved temporary staff parking at the Westpark Corner property located at 9353 Benbrook Boulevard to support the site’s redevelopment.
“To help ensure the success of the redevelopment of Westpark Corner with Jake's Burgers and Tacos and Avocados, I move that we approve temporary parking with Mad Benbrook LLC on the property located at 9353 Benbrook Boulevard and to authorize the president to sign any necessary documents. This temporary parking is to help accommodate staff only and will end on 10/01/2026,” Miss Melton said when she introduced the motion. Kent Williams seconded the motion and the board voted to approve it.
The motion was presented immediately after the board returned to open session following an executive session on real property. The approved action authorizes the corporation’s president to execute any documents necessary to implement the temporary parking agreement; the board specified the parking is for staff use only and set an end date of October 1, 2026. The motion was moved by Miss Melton and seconded by Kent Williams; no roll-call tally was stated in the public record.
The parking agreement is tied explicitly in the motion to the redevelopment effort at Westpark Corner, which was referenced by name in the motion language. The board took the vote in open session after the closed deliberation on real property allowed under Texas Government Code section 551.072.
The board did not receive public comment on the item prior to the vote.
