EDC reports: La Quinta Del Sol hotel rising, 140,000-sq-ft warehouse under construction

Staff updated the board on several development and parks projects in the city. The La Quinta Del Sol hotel is under vertical construction and expected to finish later this year; a 140,000-square-foot warehouse by Huntington Industrial Partners is under construction and slated for completion this summer. Ongoing park work includes fence repairs, Oak Ridge parking expansion and a multi-field reconstruction at Irvin Park.
Staff noted that phase 2 reconstruction of baseball fields at Irvin Park is under construction and that staff will return with photos and follow-up presentations when completed. Regarding the warehouse, staff said, “They’re gone vertical... it’s a 140,000 square foot building,” and that the city will market the finished space to potential tenants. Staff also referenced an non-development agreement for a large site (Alsanna Village) with Valiant Real Estate and noted ongoing infrastructure work for phase 1 of that project.
The board did not take formal action on these project updates but asked staff to return with additional timelines and ribbon-cutting coordination.
