Summary

An organizer for the upcoming Beer Fest raised a question during public comment asking whether garbage removal for the event would be handled solely by the event board or if city help would be available.
The attendee, identified in the transcript as Sean, said the board had discussed lessons learned from last year and wanted clarification on trash removal so "we had all of everything lined up that we needed to." A parks representative explained the city's usual practice: "We typically have one parks attendant on duty over those weekend hours ... during special events, we typically ask the event coordinator to provide additional trash service to the trash cans in the parks," and staff will supply extra bags so coordinators can re-bag and remove full containers.
Sean said his board had a plan in place after discussing concerns at a recent meeting and that volunteers will staff the concerts and events. Council thanked the organizer for coming; no council action was required.
