Cleburne named top community in Visit Cleburne awards; mayor proclaims Travel and Tourism Week

June Bates, chair of the tourism and marketing committee of the Chamber of Commerce, and Heather (Visit Cleburne) presented that Cleburne received multiple honors from the Texas Travel Alliance’s "best of Texas" awards, including recognition for local businesses (Southern Joy Bistro and Bakery) and the city itself as a top community. Bates emphasized cooperation among the city, schools, chamber, Visit Cleburne and downtown partners as the reason for the recognition.
Mayor Scott Kane read a proclamation declaring Travel and Tourism Week in Cleburne and cited statewide tourism figures used in the proclamation (nationwide and state numbers read aloud in the proclamation). Visit Cleburne representatives described tours, attractions and partnerships that drew visitors, and the museum and downtown businesses reported increased visitation that supports local hotels and restaurants. "This recognition reflects the collective effort of our entire community," June Bates said.
