The City of Cleburne council approved an ordinance reappointing Michael Kermis as the municipal court judge for a two-year professional services agreement.
During the open session after executive session, a motion to appoint Judge Kermis for the term 06/01/2026 through 05/31/2028 at an annual compensation of $72,548.85 was made and seconded. "I move to appoint Michael Kremes as municipal court judge for a 2 year term for the period of 06/01/2026 through 05/31/2028 at an annual compensation amount of $72,548.85," the motion stated. The appointment aligns the municipal court judge's term with council scheduling and continues the city's practice of contracting for municipal court services.
