Council bans game rooms in all zoning districts, aligning code with existing ordinance

After returning from an attorney consultation, planning staff presented an amendment to add 'game room' to the zoning use chart and make it not permitted in any zoning district. Ms. Bergman said the change follows a January amendment to Chapter 111 that already prohibited amusement redemption machines, gambling devices and game rooms, and that the use chart amendment would make Chapter 155 consistent.
"Game rooms would be added but not permitted in any district and the definition will default back to chapter 111," Ms. Bergman explained. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval unanimously. A council motion to approve item 8.2 passed with all members voting in favor; the meeting then adjourned.
