Dustin Henry of Development Services briefed the commission on recent and upcoming City Council actions, including zoning approvals and pending ordinance amendments. "At March 12, there was the 1st reading and public hearing for the for babies special use permit for their kennel and, the future land use plan amendment and rezoning were approved for the headwater project at 1199 Fire Lane," Henry said, and he told the commission that the kennel special use permit received a second reading and council approval on March 26.
Henry also summarized items considered at the April 9 council meeting: first readings and public hearings for several ordinance amendments that had come through the Planning and Zoning Commission, plus a first reading and public hearing for the rezoning request for the Indigo Ridge South Tract and a plan development amendment and proposed future land use plan amendment and rezoning for the Omniverse project along Scottsdale Drive. He said second readings of those code amendments and zoning cases were scheduled for the April 23 council meeting, which also includes a resolution to accept the city's median design guidelines. Henry noted there were no items currently slated on the May 15 council agenda.
