Mrs. Smith presented acceptance of the Indiana Department of Education's formative assessment grant, describing it as a noncompetitive, formula-based award to support approved formative assessment tools. She said the grant—cited in the meeting as $59,201.80—will help fund reading and math screeners for grades K–2, offset much of the fall PSAT 8/9 administration cost for selected 8th and all 9th grade students, and fund remaining expenses for the CogAT high-ability screener.
The administration indicated any additional costs for PSAT administration will be covered by the education fund. The board approved acceptance of the grant by a 4-0 vote.
