Commission hears Habitat for Humanity update on two Wallport homes; one-bedroom unit to reopen for applicants

A commissioner (Dwayne) told the Planning Commission that Habitat for Humanity is currently building two homes in Wallport on Lafayette and that one of the homes — a one-bedroom unit — will be re-opened for applicants after the first selected household fell through. "They are currently building 2 homes in Wallport on Lafayette. And, 1 of them is a 1 bedroom home," the commissioner said, and asked colleagues to spread the word to potential eligible households.
Commissioners discussed eligibility questions and requested staff provide low-income eligibility guidance based on household size and county median-income figures so they can help recruit eligible applicants. The planner said she would gather information and circulate it to the commission.
