Planner reports building-activity uptick, wetlands review moves to consultant

City Planner Catherine Gunther told the commission she will compile a year-end building-activity report and that the city is seeing an uptick in applications heading into spring. Gunther said she is tracking open permits and working to ensure final inspections and certificates of occupancy are recorded so the city’s housing-unit tallies reflect completed units rather than in-progress permits.
Gunther also updated commissioners on wetlands work: she said DSL finished a round of review and returned the draft to Pacific Habitat Solutions, the consultant doing field work, and that staff expects to provide an update to City Council by the December meeting or the December planning commission meeting. “DSL finished their last round of reviews... and it went back to Pacific Habitat Solutions,” Gunther said, and she asked the consultants to indicate where site-specific field work remains incomplete.
