Applicant David Diamond outlines building-code experience; commission forwards ranked recommendations to council

David Diamond introduced himself at the Nov. 18 meeting as an applicant for one of two open planning-commission seats and summarized a long career in the RV and manufactured-housing industry and experience on state advisory boards for building codes. “Again, my name is David Diamond… I have expertise in housing, building codes, and standards,” Diamond said, describing prior volunteer work with the State of Oregon’s Manufactured Structures and Parts Advisory Board.
After hearing from all applicants, commissioners completed ranked ballots and compiled a recommendation for the City Council. Staff reported the tally as Roland: 6, David: 9, Steve: 6 (lower score is better under the commission’s scoring method). The commission agreed to forward those ranked results to council for final selection and asked applicants to attend the council meeting in case councilors have follow-up questions.
