Mary Ellen O'Shaughnessy, president of the Yachats City Council, announced that the city's trolley has arrived and held a grand opening on November 20. "The trolley made it here," she said, adding that grant funding covered the purchase and the city will use its visitor-amenities fund to pay for upkeep and a driver.
O'Shaughnessy said the trolley will be stored in the student bus garage when not in use and will operate seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day. She described the trolley as an amenity for visitors and said other nearby cities had expressed interest in Yachats' new service.
