Valley Creek was singled out during the CIP presentation with a staff estimate of $7.8 million for construction in 2027 and a caveat that the project will proceed only if grant funding is secured.
Staff said the $7,800,000 figure represents the best-case scenario in the draft plan and emphasized that successful grant awards would be required to keep the current schedule and scope. "We currently have $7,800,000 estimated for construction work in 2027... we anticipate that we'll move forward if the grants that we've applied for are awarded to the city," staff said. If grant applications are unsuccessful, the board was told the city would need to reevaluate timing and scope.
Board members did not amend the proposal during the meeting; staff noted the project will return for further updates as grant decisions and design details firm up.
