Council heard that Lake County sewer crews spent recent weeks inspecting the city's sanitary interceptor with camera trucks and related equipment; staff said the work covered roughly 10,000 feet of mainline and that an inspection report will be returned to the city for review. The public works superintendent described the inspection activity and asked the council to await the formal report for any recommended repairs or follow-up work.
City manager stated the city had a prior incident (May 27) in which blue dye entered the sewer system and discharged into Sawmill Creek; he said HazMat and the EPA were involved in the response and added, "There's really no danger to the public or anything," while thanking fire and public works staff for their response and overtime work. Council requested staff to bring the inspection report back when available.
