The Canfield City Council was told the city will pilot a quadrant-based stick-and-limb pickup schedule so crews will hit each quadrant consecutively each week rather than the prior schedule that sometimes left areas waiting in poor weather. "We developed a schedule now whereby we'll be hitting every quadrant, one after another throughout each week," the city manager said, describing the change as a four-week program intended to be fairer for residents.
Council staff also announced upcoming bid openings: one bid opening scheduled April 8 for a currently advertised project and a second bid opening on April 15 for the CH Campbell waterline, a project described as a new feed that will improve water access to a school and surrounding neighborhoods and provide redundancy during emergencies. Public Works Superintendent Mr. Rapp summarized the city's ongoing pothole repairs and estimated remaining street work, saying crews have fewer than roughly 250 meters remaining of repairs on a 3,000-plus meter program.
