The Calvert County Board of Education adopted a resolution recognizing outgoing student member Allison Jones for her service representing more than 15,000 students and for her leadership in student advisory activities. The resolution recounted Jones’ work organizing school visits, supporting student mental health conversations and increasing student participation on advisory committees.
Allison Jones addressed the board, thanking trustees and staff. "I have to say that me being in this position is really a true reflection of what our county does for our students," she said, describing how the role helped her grow from a shy middle-schooler into a confident student leader. Trustees thanked Jones for her service and wished her well as she hands off the role.
