Dr. Newsome also noted county recognition of Patuxent High School's state championship football team, announced upcoming events (a math learning festival on March 18 and a history fair on Saturday the 14th), and thanked staff and board members who attended a new leadership academy. "This is such a jewel in the state of Maryland," Dr. Newsome said about the district and its schools. He closed by encouraging community attendance at upcoming events.
