Board approves $498,700 Panorama student-success platform contract

The Calvert County Board of Education voted 5-0 to approve a contract with Panorama Education for Panorama Solara and the Panorama Student Success Platform at a total cost presented as $498,700 over three years.
Sheldon Taylor, supervisor of finance and procurement, introduced the recommendation and noted the procurement used an existing competitively awarded contract. Scott McCone, Director of System and Instructional Performance, explained the district already uses Panorama for SEL surveys and that the new student-success module will add progress-monitoring, individualized reading intervention letters and an intervention library for teachers. "Part of our purchase is that training support... they will actually start working with us in April to do the onboarding," McCone said, describing phased training for district leaders and teacher trainers. Board members pressed on pilot results, training timelines, and cost-offsets; staff said cost-offset estimates for retiring legacy systems would be provided after the meeting.
