"I've worked in Calvert County Public Schools in a variety of the schools as well as in the departments of instruction and special education," Dr. Vankanich said, thanking the board and saying she could not imagine a better way "to continue my tenure in Calvert County Public Schools in the service of students."
The recommendation materials presented by the superintendent said the district used model policy language and highlighted Dr. Vankanich's work in multi-tiered systems of support, Universal Design for Learning and data-informed instructional practices. The board did not discuss amendments to the appointment; the vote was recorded without roll-call detail in the public transcript.
