The staff presentation also proposed moving uses such as smoke/vape shops and tattoo parlors to special‑exception review in certain districts, tightening standards for vehicle sales/services and limiting self‑storage footprints and heights unless interior‑access multi‑story designs are used.
Staff explained the intent is to protect newly upgraded intersections and gateways and to avoid clustering high‑turnover or high‑impact businesses at visible entrances to town. Commissioners agreed on clarifying measurement rules (tenant space vs. building face) and on adding State Road designations to mapped corridors; the commission moved and approved a favorable recommendation for the amendments as discussed.
