Commission recommends rezoning 3.51-acre Colson parcel from AO to C3

The Bryan Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend that the City Council rezone a 3.51-acre parcel on the Highway 6 frontage road from Agricultural Open (AO) to Commercial District C3.
Mikayla Dickinson, a staff planner with the City of Bryan, told commissioners the parcel is surrounded by C3 zoning and that rezoning would "promote continued orderly commercial growth" and align the property with the future land-use map. Dickinson said staff mailed six notifications and had not received calls or emails about the case.
The public hearing on the item drew no speakers. A commissioner moved to recommend approval to the City Council and adopt the staff report as the commission's findings; the motion passed unanimously. The commission's recommendation will be forwarded to Bryan City Council for final action.
