Several miscellaneous items were discussed near the end of the March 31 meeting. Monty Herbert, the county Community Corrections Director, described steps being taken on unpaid charges for juveniles in detention from the Department for Children and Families (DCF) and conferred with Commissioner Dan Woydziak about a Rose Hill foster home that accepts juveniles after detention.
County Administrator Will Johnson updated the Board on the county's bankruptcy case, said he would travel to Saline County for a retirement, and noted the City of El Dorado is hosting a Data Center work session on Wednesday evening where the Department of Commerce will speak; he also mentioned a Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) request concerning data centers. Later in the meeting County Counselor Terrence Huelskamp informed the Board of an April 17 hearing on the county's denial of a Conditional Use Permit application by property owner Michael Page for an event venue on his property. No formal Board action was taken on these items during the March 31 meeting.
