Town Engineer Stacia Schroeder presented the current draft of the proposed Critical Areas Ordinance and reviewed the map exhibits and source materials, noting that much of the ordinance language is drawn from other jurisdictions and that designations will be applied on a case‑by‑case basis.
Schroeder said the draft had been submitted to several state agencies for review but only the Department of Fish and Wildlife had provided comments to date; Departments of Commerce, Ecology, and Natural Resources had not yet commented. The council agreed to continue discussion at the next meeting so members have more time to review the substantial material in the draft ordinance.
