Advisory committee presses staff for project timelines and clarity on CRA accomplishments

Members of the Mount Plymouth–Sorrento CRA advisory committee pressed staff for clearer timelines, documentation of accomplishments and guidance on how the CRA will prioritize projects as TIF funds are used for a major road infrastructure project.
"We need something to be done. We need to show that we're making a difference in the community," one committee member said, urging staff to lead the advisory committee toward completed projects rather than starting multiple small initiatives. Staff responded that it is verifying which accomplishments can be posted as CRA accomplishments (rather than other community efforts), that design work needs to finish to provide accurate cost estimates, and that the CRA board will ultimately prioritize projects once construction costs and the remaining TIF balance are known.
The committee asked to receive CRA board agendas and to have items—especially the road infrastructure project—tracked so advisory members can follow progress. Staff agreed to provide board agenda materials when posted and to work on a timeline for redevelopment‑plan projects.
