County switches architects for temporary library site; quote and schedule due in coming weeks

Janie Brown told the advisory committee that the county is no longer working with Powell Architects on the temporary library site and has engaged a new firm, KTH, which is preparing a quote and schedule of deliverables.
"KTH is working on providing us with a quote and schedule of deliverables for staff and staff expects to have this information with the next couple of weeks," Brown said. She said if the county approves KTH's proposal staff will have a clearer timeframe for design and renovation steps and will ensure CRA commercial design standards, the land development regulations and the comprehensive plan are met during site plan review.
Committee members asked whether the architect would address exterior design and whether library services staff would be consulted; Brown said staff would coordinate with library services and provide links to the design standards. No contract award was announced at the meeting.
