Planning staff presented a voluntary annexation and associated service agreement under Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code for roughly 62 acres on the north side of County Road 1125, about a quarter mile west of the Chisholm Trail Parkway. If approved, the site would be annexed into the agricultural zoning district and would require future rezoning before development. Staff confirmed required notice and stated that Planning and legal requirements for annexation had been met.
Council and staff discussed infrastructure needs tied to nearby development and Project Maverick. When asked about County Road 1125 improvements and sewer extension needs, staff said the city is coordinating with Project Maverick and the Amazon-site developer on reconstruction in that corridor and that the McNair Phase 3 sewer project will allow extension of service to the annexation area. "We are currently working with Project Maverick for the reconstruction of County Road 1125," staff said. Council approved the annexation and the related service agreement unanimously following the public hearing.
