Council approves several contracts and grants including pavement marking and Safe Streets participation

During the consent and action portions of the meeting, the council approved multiple routine and programmatic items. Council approved a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity pavement-marking contract with DIJ Construction with a not-to-exceed cap of $1,750,000; staff said the increase reflects more crosswalks, added bike lanes and industry price escalation. The council also approved participation in a joint application with Williamson County for the federal Safe Streets for All grant program and authorized a letter of support.
Separately, the council accepted a $15,000 donation from the Parks and Trails Foundation of Cedar Park intended to support parks amenities. All three actions passed by voice vote with unanimous approval from members present. Staff noted that project budgets will govern actual annual spending under the pavement-marking agreement.
