The council also approved an amendment to the design agreement for the public safety training facility (H4) that increased the construction budget from $19.5 million to $23.3 million and added approximately $432,583 in design services to cover additional scope; the amendment was approved unanimously.
Fire Chief James Mallon asked council to authorize purchase of a SymTech multipurpose container live‑fire training tower for the new training center. The total replacement for the existing training house was presented as $750,000 with a $450,000 equipment portion to be paid from contingency funds; the council approved the purchase authorization unanimously.
