Yachats adopts Lincoln County natural-hazards mitigation plan addendum

The Yachats City Council voted to adopt the city addendum to the Lincoln County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (NHMP) and directed staff to submit the adoption resolution to the Oregon Department of Emergency Management and FEMA Region 10 for final approval.
City Manager Bobby Price said staff and the emergency-preparedness committee reviewed the document and that the University of Oregon prepared the countywide plan and community addendums. The council adopted the resolution by voice vote; the mayor read the resolution text that identifies the plan as a condition for future FEMA mitigation funding and directs the city manager to implement the mitigation strategies and administrative updates.
Council noted a minor wording issue on page 8 referring to land-use codes that staff will correct before submission. The resolution was adopted without recorded opposition and will be forwarded to state and federal reviewers for final approval.
