At closing comments the board raised the process for next year’s budget and the alignment of the board’s strategic framework with the City Council’s upcoming review. A board member suggested revisiting subcommittee membership because positions have changed, and asked that the membership be evaluated before the council’s work on strategic goals.
Fran Urban, director of communications and engagement, said the budget process will be similar to last year’s: staff will bring presentations in June for review and questions, and the board will be asked to adopt and recommend a budget to the city council in July. "You'll be able to review them, ask all of the questions you'd like, and then we'll come back in July," Urban said. She agreed to note the requested future agenda item to revisit subcommittee membership and alignment with the council's timeline.
Staff indicated no votes were required at this meeting on the matter and said the board will receive materials and opportunities to comment during the June presentations.
