President Johnson read a resolution into the record proposing a $250,000 amendment to the FY26 Type B budget to fund two parks projects: up to $100,000 for a parks improvement at Veterans Park dog park and up to $150,000 for a Cedar Park Youth League assessment and renovation plan. Finance staff recommended approval, explaining the fund balance decrease and the sources that will cover it.
"This is for $250,000 for the parks projects before you, but not to exceed $100,000 for a parks improvement project at Veterans Park Dog Park and $150,000 for Cedar Park Youth League assessment and renovation plan," Bridal Solis told the board and recommended the amendment. Solis said the ending available fund balance would decrease but noted the FY26 beginning balance is higher than budgeted because of stronger sales tax receipts and some prior project savings returning to the fund.
Board members moved and seconded the resolution; the board approved the amendment by voice vote. President Johnson announced the motion passed. No public comment was received during the concurrent public hearings for the related projects prior to the vote.
The amendment will authorize staff to proceed with planning and initial funding allocation for the Veterans Park dog-park improvement and the youth-league assessment and renovation; staff will report progress in future quarterly updates.
