Council opened and closed the public hearing for CUP767-2026 (an on-premise alcohol conditional-use permit for a restaurant at 241 E FM 1382, Suite 317 โ Sunny Thai) after no members of the public spoke for or against the application. Councilmember Dan Hayden moved approval and amended the motion to include the planning-and-zoning commission's recommended conditions; the council seconded and approved the permit.
Councilwoman Azzin noted she had lunch at the restaurant and said, "although I would never, have alcohol on a council day, I could see how it would enhance the experience," indicating a favorable view of how an alcohol license could affect the customer experience. The applicant confirmed attendance at planning-and-zoning and said they had no objections to the conditions listed in the commission's recommendation.
With council concurrence, the conditional-use permit was approved and staff will ensure any stipulations from planning and zoning are included in the final permit documents.
