Resident warns of collapsing road on Summit Place, cites emergency-access risk

At the Citizens Forum portion of the April 14 meeting, Michael Green of Summit Place addressed the council with concerns about an ongoing road collapse in his neighborhood that he said has persisted for about a year and is worsening.
"That road has completely collapsed," Michael Green said, describing a horseshoe-shaped section of pavement that now leaves residents with only one way in and out. He warned that limited ingress and egress could pose a catastrophe if emergency responders cannot reach homes and said school buses currently avoid the hill. Mayor Steve Mason acknowledged the concern and asked the assistant public works director to meet with Green after the meeting to gather details and advise on next steps.
Council did not deliberate on the spot because this was a citizens' forum item, but the mayor directed staff follow-up so that the city's public works team can assess access, determine any immediate safety measures and provide the resident with next steps.
