Council approves consent agenda including purchase of Toughbooks and continuation grant application

Cedar Hill Mayor Steve Mason introduced the consent agenda and read the list of routine items the council would act on with a single vote, including minutes, procurement of 13 Panasonic FZ-55 Toughbooks for police patrol vehicles, acceptance of a 2025 racial profiling analysis, a site-plan recommendation (SP7542025), an interlocal participation agreement with TASB Energy Cooperative, acceptance of the Capital Impact Fee Advisory Committee report, and documents related to the National Opioid Settlement and a continuation grant for license plate readers and related equipment.

"Council, those are your consent agenda items," Mayor Steve Mason said when presenting the packet. Councilmember Tim Glover moved to approve items a, b, c, d, e, g, h and i; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The mayor declared the motion approved by voice and a show of hands.

The consent vote advances routine procurement and administrative items without separate public discussion. Several of the items have operational implications for public safety—most notably the purchase of officer laptops for patrol and the grant application to fund license-plate-reader units and mobile security deterrent trailers. Specific contract documents and detailed budgets were not read aloud during the meeting and were included in the agenda packet for review.
