Curtis Stultz, the city's public works director, presented the 2026 ADA curb ramp retrofit project covering three locations where corners will be modified to meet current ADA standards and improve pedestrian safety. Stultz said the package came in under the engineer's estimate and that 11 bids were received.
Councilor (mover) offered the motion to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Civil West Construction LLC, in the amount of $97,967.63, and staff recommended approving a $40,000 contingency for potential change orders. The motion was seconded and passed on voice vote.
Stultz said one location will include a pedestrian refuge island and the other two are corner improvements to aid pedestrian movement and safety; funds for the project were budgeted to cover the work and contingency.
