Board approves $39,885.64 increase to Sunderland Elementary HVAC project to replace generator and remove underground tank

Shashida Warner, director of planning and construction, presented Change Order No.1 for the Sunderland Elementary HVAC, AHU and boiler replacement project. Warner explained the order encompasses five requests, including replacement of a 35 kW diesel generator and removal of a 500‑gallon underground fuel oil storage tank, with several scope credits applied to offset costs.
Warner said: "In total, change order number 1 increases the previously approved project amount from $2,298,000 to $2,337,885.64." The board approved the change order by voice vote (4‑0). Warner noted the generator replacement reduces long‑term insurance and environmental risk associated with underground fuel oil storage.
Board members asked clarifying questions; there was no opposition recorded at the meeting.
