Human Resources presented workforce metrics, training and wellness program updates to council.
Jennifer Maglietti reported the city’s current vacancy rate is 5.9% and the turnover rate is 4.9%, noting the two rates are close at this time and described priority vacancies in police, communications, and maintenance roles. She highlighted that the city earned the 2025 platinum Healthy Worksite distinction from the Healthy Business Council of Ohio for its Healthy by Choice program and described staff wellness offerings (access to Calm app, internal "Dub Talk" speaker series and community service activities).
Maglietti also summarized compliance training and talent/culture events and answered council questions about additional metrics (average years of service, median departure salary) and strategies to expand wellness participation; HR staff said they will consider including median/average employment metrics in future briefings. Council members thanked HR for the wellness and retention work and suggested additional workforce analytics for context.
Next steps: HR to consider additional metrics for future briefings and continue programmatic efforts to support recruitment and retention.
